Alberti

Giuseppe Matteo Alberti (1685–1751) was a Bolognese composer and violinist who spent his entire career in Bologna, holding positions at the Basilica of San Petronio and the Accademia Filarmonica, of which he was elected president six times. His output is largely instrumental: he published twelve symphonies and a set of string concertos, and his music was widely played in England during his lifetime. Influenced by Vivaldi, his violin concertos and string sinfonias are well-suited to youth and chamber orchestras.
