Albinoni

Tomaso Albinoni (1671–1751) was a Venetian composer who worked at the height of the Baroque era. Independently wealthy, he composed without the pressures of court or church employment, which gave him unusual freedom to develop his own style. He wrote extensively for strings, and his violin concertos (Opp. 2, 5, and 6) and string sinfonias remain accessible, well-crafted repertoire for youth orchestras and student soloists. His oboe concertos (Opp. 7 and 9) are among the most frequently performed Baroque works for the instrument.
