Ten Have

Willem ten Have (1831–?) was a Dutch violinist and composer born in Amsterdam who studied under Charles de Bériot in Brussels, the teacher who shaped a generation of the finest violinists of the nineteenth century. From de Bériot he acquired not only his technique but two of his instruments, including the 'De Bériot' Guarneri del Gesù of 1744, one of the most celebrated violins in existence. He is best remembered for his Allegro Brillant for violin and piano, a sparkling concert piece that demonstrates the elegant, singing style he inherited from his teacher.
