Viola and Piano
Viola and piano
The viola and piano repertoire rewards exploration. The Brahms sonatas, originally written for clarinet, work beautifully on viola; Schumann's Märchenbilder and Bruch's Romanze are staples of the recital repertoire. There's also a substantial body of teaching and examination pieces at every grade level, and a number of less familiar works that don't get the attention they deserve.
