Guitar and String Orchestra

Guitar and string orchestra

The combination of guitar and strings has produced some of the most recognisable music of the twentieth century. Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez is the obvious starting point, but the repertoire extends well beyond it — his Fantasía para un gentilhombre, the Villa-Lobos concerto, Malcolm Arnold's concerto, and a range of shorter works and transcriptions that suit a school or youth orchestra context.

This is a section we're building from the ground up. As with our other string orchestra publications, we're focused on producing materials that work in rehearsal: clear solo parts, well-balanced string writing, practical page turns.

If there's a work you'd like to see here, please get in touch. Good editions for guitar and string orchestra can be genuinely hard to find, so requests are particularly welcome.
