My name is Paul Wood,

My name is Paul Wood, and I'm delighted to share this collection of scores with you. As a musician, educator, and published author living and working in Scotland, I've dedicated my career to music education, performance, arranging, and composing. MyMusicScores.com is born out of that passion.

Published Educator & Music Education Specialist

I am the co-author of the Stringtastic series, a widely-used string method published by Faber Music. Designed to make learning engaging and accessible for young players, Stringtastic has helped thousands of students develop their skills with a pedagogical approach that prioritises both musical understanding and practical technique. This experience in creating educational resources directly informs the arrangements and editions you'll find here at MyMusicScores.com.

My commitment to music education runs deep. For nearly a decade (2006-2015), I served as Music Service Manager for East Ayrshire Council, where the service achieved unprecedented national recognition, receiving multiple Major Awards and Diplomas of Merit from the National Music Council of Great Britain and the Music Education Council for imaginative, inclusive, and high-quality music provision. During this time, I also served as Chair of Heads of Instrumental Teaching Scotland (HITS) from 2012-2015, working closely with the Scottish Government on the development of instrumental music-making across the country.

A Career Dedicated to Musical Excellence

My journey in music has been rich and varied. A graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), I've had the privilege of performing as a violinist, leading orchestras like the Ayrshire Symphony Orchestra (which I joined in 2006), and commissioning works from young composers. My own arrangements have been performed by esteemed ensembles including the BBC Concert Orchestra, Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra, The Fryderyk Chopin Institute, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, to name but a few. Currently, alongside running MyMusicScores.com, I work as a freelance Music Education Consultant and Chair the acclaimed Cumnock Tryst music festival founded by Sir James MacMillan.

Quality Scores for Every Musician

MyMusicScores.com reflects this deep experience in both performance and pedagogy. Here you'll find a growing library of digital sheet music, featuring many of my own arrangements alongside works by a wide range of composers. Whether you're looking for pieces for solo instruments, string quartets, full orchestras, or specific combinations like Violin and Piano or Solo and String Orchestra, our catalogue is designed to be easily searchable and accessible.

We aim to provide scores that are not only musically rewarding but also practical for performers. Every edition is professionally engraved with the same attention to clarity and usability that informed my work on Stringtastic. That's why I'm happy to state that you do not need any additional performance licence to play or record my arrangements found here – simply give appropriate credit.
