Belgian virtuoso violinist and composer Henri Vieuxtemps gifted the world with his Violin Concerto No. 5 in A minor, Op. 37, a masterwork of the Romantic era. Completed in 1859, this concerto was dedicated to his friend Hubert Léonard, who requested it as a challenging test piece for violin students at the Brussels Conservatory.
