Giuseppe Matteo Alberti (20 September 1685, in Bologna, Italy – 18 February 1751, in Bologna, Italy)

Giuseppe Matteo Alberti was an Italian composer and violinist who was active in the early 18th century. He was born in Venice in 1685 and studied music with his father, who was also a composer. Alberti is known for his operas, which were popular in Italy during his lifetime. He wrote a number of operas for the Teatro San Giovanni Grisostomo in Venice, as well as several oratorios and other vocal works. In addition to his work as a composer, Alberti was also a skilled violinist and performed with several orchestras in Italy. He died in Venice in 1751, leaving behind a significant body of work that is still admired today.
